The administration of the Tambov region held a meeting at which agricultural producers of the region discussed plans to increase the contribution of the Tambov region to the country's food security, reports press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The event was hosted by Maxim Egorov, Acting Head of the Administration of the Tambov Region.
“Our region is agricultural, and we need to clearly understand what competitive advantages we have in the current conditions in order to help the country. On the one hand, it is necessary to reduce the dependence of the region on a number of product categories that we import from other regions, and on the other hand, to increase the supply of our products to foreign markets," Maxim Egorov, acting head of the regional administration, emphasized.
At the meeting, concrete decisions were worked out, plans for the coming years were outlined.
“We are planning on the basis of the Michurinsk Agrarian University to create conditions for the training of specialists, which our agro-industrial enterprises urgently need,” emphasized Maxim Egorov. - To identify the specifics of the required personnel, I ask the management of all agricultural enterprises in the Tambov region to send a list of necessary specialists to the responsible regional department. Based on your applications, we will organize training.
In addition, he called on agricultural producers of the region to take part in the development of rural areas.
“We have land plots in villages, equipped with all the necessary infrastructure, under the state program for the integrated development of rural areas. So let's use them to build houses for the employees of your enterprises,” emphasized Maxim Egorov.
State support is also one of the main levers for the development of the agricultural sector. Today, the region offers agricultural producers various measures to support enterprises - from soft loans and grants to government orders. In 2022, the region will receive about 1,2 billion rubles to subsidize preferential loans for the village. This is 848,5 million more than originally planned.
It should be noted that in June 2022, the Government of the Russian Federation supported the application of the Tambov region to participate in a new mechanism for attracting investments. We are talking about three projects, as a result of which an elevator for 250 thousand tons of grain, a logistics center and a large-scale warehouse complex will be built on the territory of the Tambov region. More than 2500 jobs will be created at these enterprises. All this will provide the Tambov region not only with the development of the agro-industrial complex, but also with the growth of the economy.
“Food security is one of the main areas for ensuring the national security of the country, especially in the context of external sanctions. This is the basis for preserving our statehood and sovereignty. And the development of a short-term and medium-term strategy to ensure food security is the most important task,” Maxim Egorov stressed.
