Agrarians of the Lipetsk region are making every effort to provide the population of the region with their own potatoes and vegetables, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
“Using every fine day, agricultural producers of the Lipetsk region go out into the fields to harvest the entire crop,” said Oleg Dolgikh, head of the regional department of agriculture. - At the moment, agricultural organizations have received 85 thousand tons of potatoes and 8 thousand tons of open ground vegetables. Due to prolonged rains, 47% of the area under potatoes and 43% of the area under open ground vegetables have been harvested so far. But, despite the bad weather, the yield for vegetables is at the level of last year, and for potatoes - 5% higher.”

As for the situation with greenhouse vegetables, according to this indicator, the region has been a leader in the country for several years. Together with open field vegetables, the harvest of vegetables amounted to 265 thousand tons. At the moment, 131,2 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested in the greenhouses of the region.
