Russian producers were unable to ensure the replacement of imported milk, potatoes and salt in 2018, Interfax reports, citing data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
In accordance with the food security doctrine, the share of domestic grain from the total share of consumption should reach 85%, sugar and vegetable oil - 80%, meat and meat products, as well as salt - 85%, milk and dairy products - 90%, fish products - 80 %, potatoes - 95%.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2018, the threshold values of the doctrine were overcome for grain, vegetable oil, beet sugar, meat and fish products.
The ministry said that in 2018, imports rose for the first time in five years. In general, the indicator increased by 2,3% by 2017, imports of cattle - 1,8 times, vegetables - by 24%, confectionery - by 15,8%, tomatoes - by 11,5%.
