The regional brand "Tambovskaya karotoshka" will take part in the first national competition for food brands "Tastes of Russia".
In the Tambov region, potatoes began to be grown in 1841. For several years, the culture has been successfully spread throughout the region. Fertile chernozem lands, favorable for potatoes climate contribute to the successful cultivation of crops to this day. According to experts, Tambov potatoes have a high starch content and good taste.
Tambovskaya Karotoshka is not just a regional brand. It is recognizable throughout the country. As you know, in the markets of various cities of Russia, sellers in order to increase the demand for potatoes, often assign the name "Tambov" to it. After all, "Tambovskaya potato" in preparation is very crumbly and tasty.
Note that in the Tambov region in honor of potatoes, a regional holiday is organized, which is annually held at the Pokrovskaya fair. Hundreds of kilograms of potatoes are cooked in a large cauldron. or in a huge frying pan, and then they treat everyone as part of the festivities.
According to the regional agriculture department, this year the agricultural enterprises of the region harvested more than 112 thousand tons of potatoes. The main share of potato growing falls on personal subsidiary plots.
An application for the participation of the regional brand "Tambovskaya Karotoshka" in the national competition "Tastes of Russia" has already been sent to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
Acceptance of applications will end on November 9, and in December the winners will be selected by an expert commission.
“The presentation of the Tambov Karotoshka brand at the Tastes of Russia competition will demonstrate the potential of the Tambov region, as well as increase the level of consumer confidence and demand,” says Lidia Bakumenko, head of the agriculture department of the Tambov region.
The competition is intended to draw attention to the achievements of small and medium-sized businesses in the field of the agro-industrial complex and to help create new points of growth and development drivers for rural areas of Russian regions.
