The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia asked the Ministry of Agriculture to return to Russian farmers subsidies for the purchase of fuels and lubricants, reports TASS.
The Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev received a letter from the CCI asking to reintroduce compensation for fuel and lubricants in order to smooth out price increases for diesel fuel, this is especially true during the sowing and harvesting campaign.
In a letter, the head of the CCI Sergey Katyrin said that in a number of territories and regions there is an increase in prices for fuels and lubricants. For example, in the Sverdlovsk Region in May alone, purchase prices for diesel fuel in the wholesale market increased by an average of 6 percent, while gasoline rose by more than 15 percent. The jump in prices occurred in the midst of sowing.
The CCI is concerned about this, the letter said that it "has a negative impact on the financial performance of agricultural enterprises, producers and processors of agricultural products." Now that harvesting has begun and fodder is being harvested, the Ministry of Agriculture must take urgent measures.
