Due to abnormally rainy weather, the timing of potato harvesting in the Bryansk region has shifted significantly this year, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
As of October 18, 2022, about 20 thousand hectares have been harvested, 720 thousand tons have been dug up.
In the Dyatkovsky and Krasnogorsk regions, potatoes have been harvested in full from the sown areas, and in the Karachevsky, Rognedinsky, Zlynkovsky, Klimovsky and Novozybkovsky regions, potato harvesting is close to completion.
This year, the largest areas under potatoes are located in Starodubsky, Unechsky and Pogarsky districts.
Bryansk potatoes are sold to different regions of Russia, supplied to chain stores and widely represented at regional weekend fairs.
In terms of industrial production of potatoes, the Bryansk region ranks first in Russia. Every 8th kilogram of Russian potatoes is produced in Bryansk.
