In the farms of the region, harvesting is being completed, plowing of fallow is underway, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Mikhail Glazkov, deputy head of the region, summed up the preliminary results of the harvesting campaign during an operational meeting with the participation of the governor.
At the moment, the harvesting of grain crops and rapeseed has been completed in the region. Fiber flax was pulled out on an area of 22 thousand hectares (96% of the plan). Farmers threshed 177 thousand tons of grain and 5,3 thousand tons of rape seeds, pressed 2,6 tons of flax straw. All figures are above 2021 levels.
The harvesting of vegetables and potatoes this year was delayed by rains, but in general, work is going on as usual. Producers dug up 57 thousand tons of potatoes, collected more than 7 thousand tons of open ground vegetables.
Fresh products are sold, but most of the crop will be stored to provide the region's residents with potatoes and vegetables in winter and spring.
In parallel with this, the region is actively preparing for the upcoming sowing campaign. According to Mikhail Glazkov, the goal for 2023 is to increase the area of spring sowing to 129 hectares. More than 26 thousand tons of seeds of grain crops, 7,5 thousand tons of seed potatoes, 116 tons of flax seeds and 200 tons of seeds of perennial grasses were filled up for this economy of the region. In the near future, all the resources pledged for storage will be checked by specialists from the Rosselkhozcenter laboratories.
In addition, farmers have already begun to purchase mineral fertilizers, stock up on fuel and lubricants and purchase equipment. This year, the amount of state support for agriculture at the expense of the federal and regional budgets is planned to be increased to 3,6 billion rubles.
