In agricultural enterprises of Belarus, potatoes were harvested from 13,2 thousand ha, which makes up 47,9% of the area, BelTA informs with reference to current information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
In total this year, 27,7 thousand hectares were allotted for potatoes. As of September 23, 430,8 thousand tons of potatoes were accumulated. On average, 1 centners of potatoes are harvested from 325,2 ha this year, which is 35,9 centners more than last year.
The leader in harvesting the second bread is the Vitebsk region, 60,9% of the potato area has been harvested there. Also in this region, the highest yield indicator is 404,5 c / ha. A little less - 395,3 c / ha - is harvested in the Mogilev region.
Sugar beet harvesting continues at the country's farms. As of September 23, it was removed from 25 thousand hectares, which is 26,6% of the total area. More than 1,13 million tons of sweet root crops were harvested with a yield of 453,2 c / ha (this is 29,6 c more than last year).
Sugar content of beets is 16,23%. 731,5 thousand tons of sugar beets were sold at the expense of the state order, which is 35,1% of the plan. Winter cereals in Belarus are sown on more than 828 thousand ha, which is about 61% of the plan.
In general, this year winter cereals will occupy 1 thousand hectares of agricultural land. As of September 352,3, 23% of the area was sown in the Mogilev region, in the Vitebsk region - 74,5%, in the Minsk region - 58,6%, in the Brest and Grodno region - 64,3% and 63%, respectively, in the Gomel region - 61,6 %.
