“We are proud that an exhibition dedicated to the whole cycle of potato life is held annually in Chuvashia,” noted the Head of the Republic Oleg Nikolaev, welcoming the participants and guests. "This event opens up great opportunities for developing effective measures to make Russian potato growing competitive and in demand on the world market."
The organizers of the exhibition were the Ministry of Agriculture of the Chuvash Republic, Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Research Center of Potatoes named after A.G. Lorkha ", state unitary enterprise of the Chuvash Republic" Agro-Innovations ".
The event was held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Potato Union.
85 companies from 23 regions of Russia and the Republic of Belarus took part in the exhibition. These are manufacturers of table and seed potatoes, suppliers of fertilizers and plant protection products, manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, technologies and equipment. About 100 domestic and foreign varieties of potatoes were presented to the attention of the visitors.
The main event of the business program was the scientific and practical conference "Potato growing in Russia: topical problems and priority areas of innovative development."
For the visitors of the exhibition, the sale of high-quality potato planting material from the leading seed growers of the republic was traditionally organized. Their products were sold by: LLC "Agrofirma" Slava Potato "(Komsomolsk District), Chuvash Research Institute of Agriculture - a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution FANTS of the North-East (Tsivilsky District), LLC" Agrokhmel "(Vurnarsky District), IP Chapter K (F) X Pavlova G.A. ... (Yadrinsky district), individual entrepreneur Chapter K (F) X Stepanov V.I. (Morgaush district). In addition, this year, the planting material of its own selection was provided by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Federal Research Center of Potatoes named after A.G. Lorkha ". The buyers were offered 32 varieties of seed potatoes of domestic and foreign selection.
The cultural program included tastings of domestic and foreign varieties of potatoes, potato dishes and a culinary master class.
The exhibition turned out to be interesting, crowded (due to the shortage of industry events in 2020) and, we hope, productive for all participants and guests. By the way, all its visitors could get the latest issue of the Potato System magazine.
