The State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan disseminated information about the lifting of the ban on the export of potatoes and carrots. The farmers managed to convince the authorities that this measure would only affect the country's agriculture in a negative way.KazakhGrain.kz».
The ban on the export of potatoes and carrots from Kazakhstan has been lifted since February 22. At the same time, the authorities ordered to limit the export of marketable and seed potatoes in the amount of 144,5 thousand tons and 57,5 thousand tons, respectively.
The deadline for the new measure is May 1.
According to Kairat Bisetaev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers of Kazakhstan, he managed to personally participate in the work of the interdepartmental commission and achieve a decision to lift the ban and replace it with quotas.
The ban has been in effect since January 22. It was introduced in order to stabilize prices for socially important food products, especially in the spring. To prove that this decision was excessive, the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers had to calculate the stocks of potatoes in the country. It turned out that potato growers have about 850 thousand tons of free potatoes.
Restrictions on carrots have been completely lifted.
