The decrease in potato prices is typical for almost all regions of the country and is due to a further increase in supply due to mass harvesting
According to analysts of the EastFruit project, this week in Ukraine there is a decrease in selling prices for potatoes. According to the producers themselves, the main reason for this situation is the improvement of weather conditions and the resumption of harvesting operations in most regions of the country, which immediately increased the supply of potatoes on the market.
So, today Ukrainian farmers ship potatoes at 7-9 UAH / kg ($ 0,27-0,35 / kg) depending on the quality of the products and the region of sale, whereas last week, potatoes cost on average 10% more .

The decrease in potato prices is typical for almost all regions of the country and is due to a further increase in supply due to mass harvesting. Moreover, the quality of the products offered is often quite low, which also puts pressure on prices.
Nevertheless, despite the downward price trend, potatoes in Ukraine today cost, on average, 2 times more expensive than in the same period last year. However, at the same time, project analysts do not exclude that the downward trend in prices in this segment may continue even as potato supply on the market increases.
