Potatoes in the region were harvested from the territory of 6,2 thousand hectares, which is 47% of the plan, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.
“To date, the gross harvest of potatoes in the Moscow region has amounted to 173 thousand tons, with an average yield of 8 centners per hectare. The yield increase compared to the previous year is already 279 thousand tons,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region.
Among the municipalities, the leaders in potato harvesting were Dmitrovsky district, where potatoes were harvested from an area of 2167 hectares, the leading enterprises were Agrofirma Bunyatino JSC and DGT LLC.
In Kolomna, near Moscow, potatoes were harvested from the territory of 1743 hectares, most of all in JSC Agrofirma Sosnovka and JSC Enterprise Emelyanovka.
The potato harvesting has been completed in the Pushkin city district and Solnechnogorsk.
