The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation will soon submit to the government of the Russian Federation proposals on the provision of the industry with labor resources for high-quality seasonal work, the ministry said in a statement.
"In the near future, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia will conduct a detailed analysis of the needs of the subjects in labor resources, based on the results of which appropriate proposals will be developed and submitted to the government of the Russian Federation," the press release said.
The situation in the food market and staffing for seasonal work in 2021 were discussed during the next meeting of the operational headquarters to monitor the situation in the agro-industrial complex and in the food market.
The ministry points out that a number of representatives of the regions and the industry community, in particular - the Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, the Potato and Berry Unions, noted that for the further dynamic development of the industry and the highest quality seasonal work in 2021, it is necessary to attract foreign workers.
“According to market participants, there is currently a shortage of labor migrants associated with their departure from the country after the completion of the harvest campaign. According to the regions, the total additional labor demand of the domestic agricultural industry due to external migration is more than 39 thousand people for the entire period of seasonal work, ”the report says.
As noted at the meeting, seasonal field work this year was carried out efficiently and on time, while the issue of staffing the industry was resolved, including through the redistribution of specialists from other sectors of the economy, as well as attracting students from agricultural universities.
