The initiative "Agrarian science - a step into the future development of the agro-industrial complex" will be included in the structure of the state program "Scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation." It was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia together with the Ministry of Education and Science.
Within the framework of the project, schools of domestic genetics and breeding will be developed, a digital database of genetic indicators has been created, and modern achievements of agricultural science in genomic and post-genomic technologies will be actively introduced.
The priority is to obtain high-quality and affordable products, strengthen control over the breeding and seed industries, as well as develop human resources and ensure the country's food security.
From 2022 to 2024, more than 19 billion rubles will be allocated to finance the project, including extra-budgetary funds. During this period, it is planned to achieve significant growth in a number of indicators. Thus, the level of self-sufficiency of the country with seeds of domestic breeding will reach 70%, the productivity of dairy cattle will increase by 15% compared to 2020. In addition, 900 new high-tech jobs in the agricultural sector will be created.
By 2030, thanks to the implementation of the initiative, 600 new agricultural enterprises and 4500 jobs will appear, while the budget will receive 20,5 billion rubles in additional tax revenues. The cost of agricultural production will decrease by 15%. The project will contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens, building up the scientific and economic potential of the country's agro-industrial complex and reducing import dependence.
