Since March 18, the Rosselkhoznadzor has allowed the import of potatoes into Russia from three cultivation zones of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The decision was made under the guarantees of the Central Plant Quarantine Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as on the basis of substantiating materials sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Potatoes are allowed to be imported from the cultivation zones: Nos. 86.07.03, 45.13.15 and 92.02.05.
The ban on the import of potatoes from these zones was introduced in 2018 due to the discovery of the pathogen of brown bacterial rot (Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi et al.) In the incoming shipments. The Egyptian side previously provided materials on all studies carried out by the competent department and their results over a period of three years.
At the same time, in connection with a new case of detection of a pest in a batch of Egyptian potatoes produced in zone No. 45.13.14.04, Rosselkhoznadzor introduces from March 19, 2021, temporary restrictions on the import of potatoes originating from the specified cultivation zone.
Consignments from this zone, shipped before March 19, 2021, will be admitted to the territory of Russia based on the results of quarantine phytosanitary control (supervision).
