The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC, supranational regulatory authority of the EAEU) on April 3 expanded the list of goods exempted from import customs duties and simplified the requirements for certificates of origin.
In order to minimize the negative economic consequences of the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19, to prevent a shortage of socially important goods in the Union countries, the ECE Council approved a list of critical import goods. In respect of them, a tariff exemption is provided in the form of exemption from import customs duties when importing into the EAEU countries from April 1 to June 30, 2020 inclusive.
The list includes a number of agricultural and food products (potatoes, onions, garlic, cabbage, carrots, peppers, rye, rice, buckwheat, buckwheat, juices and prepared foods for baby food), medicines and medical supplies (endoscopes, non-contact thermometers disposable pipettes, mobile disinfection units).
In addition, the list of goods used for the production of medicines, as well as medical supplies was expanded (it includes thermal bags, films for sealing bottles, medical freezers), the import of which is carried out duty-free from March 16 to September 30 of the current year, subject to confirmation of the purpose such goods.
